Steelers or Chargers move on?
I say the hottest team in the NFL moves on- the Bolts win 17- 10
No disrespect to a very good team obviously with an awesome D. The Chargers have an impressive array of offensive weapons that will eventually come through one way or another against any defense. They will not be shut down for a full 60 minutes the way they are rolling right now.
The scheming D was very effective at confusing Indy and will have similar success with Pittsburgh. This is a defense playing with heart and pride under the new (mid season replacement) coach Rivera.
The Chargers, having already played in freezing cold Pitt this year, know what to expect and will not be intimidated by the yellow towels and weather. Even though they were outgained signifigantly in total yds. they kept Pitt. out of the endzone and were in the game throughout. This is when they were struggling as well..their obviously playing well now.
Here is how I see this coming weekend shaping up…
Chargers @ Steelers:
In what I see will be primarily a low scoring defensive battle, the Steelers will have the edge being the home team, and will put together just enough offense to win the game. The Steelers have a fantastic front seven, the WILL shut down a LT-less running game and with the team on his shoulders… Rivers WILL falter.
Edge: Steelers 13-6
Ravens @ Titans:
Another terrific AFC defensive battle another AFC home team victory. This game will be all about the D and offensively it will come down to two things: who’s backs can outlast the defense and break loose for a BIG play… and which QB can play better under pressure, Collins or Flacco… I’ll take Collins
Edge: Titans 16-10
Cardinals @ Panthers:
The Cards should be absolutely ecstatic, they won their first Home Playoff game since Moses parted the Red Sea… Which, by the tired, worn look and wrinkles on his face Kurt Warner MAY very well have been around to see it happen. That said in their regular season meeting the Cards were in it until it was almost over, and the Panthers couldn’t touch Warner… In what could be an offensive shootout, where both teams could put up numbers… I like the Cards in the upset…
Edge: Cardinals 31-28
Eagles @ Giants:
No upsets here, the rested Giants offense will DOMINATE the Eagles with Brandon Jacobs and Co. on the ground while Eli shreds the Eagles secondary up top… Defensively the Giants will help Philly fans remember why the LOATHE Donovan McNabb by putting him under constant pressure and forcing him to make BIG mistakes…
Edge: Giants 31-17
