Which of the following colours would you expect to see near the bottom of a soap bubble, red or blue?
this is my solution
If the thickness of the soap bubble is much smaller than the wavelength of light, the result is destructive interference (dark color). The thickness required to produce constructive interference for red is larger than that required for blue.
therefore we see red at the bottom
is that right?
If the thickness varies on the surface of the bubble…
“A change in colour can be observed while the bubble is thinning due to evaporation. Thicker walls cancel out red (longer) wavelengths, thus causing a blue-green reflection. Later, thinner walls will cancel out yellow (leaving blue light), then green (leaving magenta), then blue (leaving a golden yellow). Finally, when the bubble’s wall becomes much thinner than the wavelength of visible light, all the waves in the visible region cancel each other out and no reflection is visible at all.”

Assuming that the bubble is of uniform thickness, though,
its curvature is enough to cause a similar effect (which I think relates to Bragg’s law). When light falls in an oblique way on the surface of the bubble, the angle of incidence together with the angle of observation change our perception of the color of the resulting light.
