Will the USPS return to sender a package that was sent media mail?

A small package that was sent via USPS media mail was sent to me but the person no longer lives here. If I write “return to sender” on the package and drop it in the mailbox will the USPS bring it back to the sender? It was not registered nor insured but had delivery confirmation.

Mark the shipping label “REFUSED” and drop it in the mail.
