Picking out the Right career path?

I have been looking at major so i can apply to college by next month… I really dont want to go undeclared.I’ve been racking my brain for careers i want to have in the future but there was some majors that interest me but many people were like dont even bother b.c you earn nothing from it.

Some Majors i was looking into
Humanities
East asian/ Asian Studies(under Ethic, Gender, Cultural studies)
Editor( my teacher told me i sucked really bad in grammer so i think this would be a bad idea)
Like major in literature
Cultural Anthropology(unless you want to teach)

A lot of people tell me to go into something that will help people or work with people.
And i dont want to teach! I cant do math( not joking i never gotten above a C!)

Does anyone know something they enjoyed around these areas? I need help fast!
THANKS

k im still a student in my last year at hs too so sry i cant help u with ur choices that u gave

however, i can give some insight on choosing a career.

i’ve been racking my brain about it too and i just couldnt decide what to do. my dad always told me to do what you love and not what makes alot of money because if u do it just for money, ur gonna hate like everyday and not want to go to work at all. work should be fun to a degree so that u enjoy urself while u make money.

that didn’t help though because i just didn’t know what i truly liked. i narrowed it down the the sciences but i couldn’t choose; doctor, engineer, dentist etc.

so, instead of choosing a direct career path, i just chose a bunch of hs courses for my last year that dabbled with what i had in mind but nothing too specific. Like, if i wanted to be an engineer for sure, i should’ve taken computer science, computer engineering and all the maths etc. Instead, i just chose things like biology chemistry some maths etc. to diversify. this way, i could get into any of the programs i wanted to after hs. also, along the way i realized i hate biology and now i dont wanna be a doctor and i want to be an engineer now :D .

i have to admit that money was a big factor and i wanted to be a doctor for a while because of the insane amount of money (my dad’s a doctor too so i’d know around how much i could make) even though i didn’t enjoy biology too much. but the thing is i wasnt so sure if i didn’t like biology so much or if it was just the money.

basically, i advise u to take courses that are generally in the area ur interested in. see, ur more into the english/social sciences/history type thing so u wouldnt need any of the classes im taking. u should take stuff like law, anthro, media, classes like that which have to do with what u might be into. along the way u might even discover something u truly love or something u truly hate, which is both good because atleast u’ll know what u definitely don’t like!

bottom line, u have plenty of time to still choose a career and even switch programs back and forth in college or university; lots of ppl do it because interests change and its stupid to decide right now exactly what u want to be when the time comes. u have tons of time to figure out and discover ur true interests so dont get stressed out about it too much now. just do well with ur grades and talk to ur parents and guidance councellors; they’re there to help.

if u have any more qs that u think i might be able to help with feel free to drop a msg. just subject it something like y! answer’s so i’ll know

hope i helped!
