wat is gaffer tape?
what is gaffer tape? the reason i ask is because some1 used it on here and i have NO idea what it is!
It’s like Duct tape only in colors and with less sticky adhesive. Black is the most common color, but I’ve also see chroma key green, maroon and other colors. It’s used as a general utility tape around stage and TV sets to tape down cords, block light, mark floors for where the talent is supposed to stand, etc. The weaker adhesive means it can be pulled up later without leaving a sticky mess.
It’s usually called “gaff tape” and can be purchased at scenery supply houses. This question probably should have been posted in TV or Theater.
