Can i tape together two jiffy bags to send through the post?
I am selling an Nintendo DS with eBay, charger and 2 games but all of this does not fit in one of my jiffy envelope bag (thingies) so can i just put the nintendo in one, and the games and charger in the other and tape the two packages together??? (I will put double the amount of stamps on just to be sure, and also i live in U.K and sending through royal mail 1st class, but please still answer if your from another country as the info could be useful.

I’m a postie, so here’s my advice.
You can do this. I would recommend literally wrapping the two packages together with parcel tape. You need to be certain that the jiffy bags don’t get split apart (bear in mind that there’s a lot of machine sorting these days). If this happens, one item won’t have an address or postage and therefore end up sitting in the Returns Centre until it gets auctioned or destroyed, unless you get a claim in and they track it down.
This is hassle, so if you do really want to bundle it together, make sure its done extremely well, and make sure that you put both the buyer’s address and your address (mark it as “ret” and much smaller) on both jiffy bags. This means that if they break apart in transit, there’s at least an address, even if one doesn’t have postage (meaning the addressee will have to pay to get it, or it’ll get returned to you, but its better than it getting lost!).
Regarding postage, don’t just put double on. Weigh the bags as one item, then calculate the postage you need. You can use the Royal Mail online postage calculator (you can even pay and print your own stamps from there!), if you don’t want a trip to the post office.
Now, I can see why you’d want to bundle them together – so your buyer doesn’t think you’ve screwed him over and only sent half the goods, right?
Thats fair enough, but I would suggest to be on the safe side you send them as two shipments.
Get in touch with them to say you’ll be doing this, or put a note in the jiffy bags.
